Electricity pylons – Carr Civil Engineering https://carrcivilengineering.co.uk Fri, 09 Aug 2019 09:22:59 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.2.2 PO86 Arc Strike Investigations & Epoxy Shell Installation https://carrcivilengineering.co.uk/po86-arc-strikes-on-hp-pipeline/ Mon, 03 Jun 2019 10:15:56 +0000 https://carrcivilengineering.co.uk/?p=1021 Due to a recent heath fire,  multiple plumes of  dense, thick, acrid smoke rose up into the high voltage overhead power cables, resulting in multiple arc strikes travelling back down through the carbon within the smoke,  striking the HP Pipeline parallel to the high voltage overhead cables.

After excavations were carried out & the pipeline had been surveyed by the client via a P11 assessment, the results of this were sent off to a third party mechanical damage expert, and they advised that an epoxy repair shell should be fitted to the pipeline. See below photographs.
