Crowthorne – Carr Civil Engineering https://carrcivilengineering.co.uk Fri, 26 Feb 2021 12:02:36 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.2.2 Crowthorne Reinstatement Project https://carrcivilengineering.co.uk/crowthorne-reinstatement-project/ Mon, 14 Oct 2019 09:58:01 +0000 https://carrcivilengineering.co.uk/?p=1158 We have been tasked as part of the reinstatement at Crowthorne Project to cut back an area of heather within the forest with the use of a brush cutter, bagging it all up into ton bags and then moving it to the job site to encourage new growth of heather. The engineers moved a total of 35 ton bags of heather and spread it across the area.

Roger Stace the Land Manager (Conservation) for Berkshire advised the below:

“I was on site today and have looked at the work Sean and the team had done and am very pleased with the results. Thank you for the teams efforts”

Close down meeting at Crowthorne for the Zinc Ribbon & Arc Strike Project https://carrcivilengineering.co.uk/close-down-meeting-at-crowthorne-for-the-zinc-ribbon-arc-strike-project/ Wed, 02 Oct 2019 11:15:48 +0000 https://carrcivilengineering.co.uk/?p=1137 Following the completion of the Crowthorne Project a close down meeting was held with Natural England the BBOWT Council, Bracknell Council & SGN the client.

All parties were happy with the project and the way it had been reinstated, and we have agreed with our client to cut down some heather & reseed the area as a goodwill gesture to the councils & Natural England for being so accommodating.

Comments from Natural England, Des Sussex – Team Leader

“This sounds very good – many thanks for taking the nature conservation interests of the site into account with your management of the project. I hope the future management plans will help to safeguard the pipeline as well as the habitats”
